Floor Factory introduce a new range of stunning wood floors made by Woodpecker

Nothing gives a space that warm, comfortable feeling quite like a beautiful wood floor does. It can remind you of time spent outdoors admiring a woodland scene or a barefoot walk among the trees with their scent on the air and soft foliage under your feet. Woodpecker woods, now available at Floor Factory in Derby, bring that sense of being close to nature into your home.

Once installed, a solid wood floor soon becomes a living, breathing part of your surroundings, radiating its warmth and feeling confident under your feet. Woodpecker solid woods are made from hardwoods such as oak and walnut and come from responsibly managed forests in Europe or the Americas. Each board is engineered from a single piece of carefully chosen timber and then enhanced through a range of different finishes which bring out the character in the wood’s natural texture.

To the naked eye, engineered wood flooring has all the natural beauty of solid wood - intriguing textures, rich and subtle colours and gorgeous finishes. But the way the boards are constructed means they are much more versatile and practical for the modern home. With central heating or underfloor heating, solid woods can easily dry out and become warped. Expanding and contracting can also be an issue. Engineered wood is designed to overcome these problems. Also, by choosing this option you can do your bit for the environment as it helps the tree go further by using less solid wood.
