Derbyshire Life - - The Wi Diary -

At the time of writing, the Covid-19 lockdown continues. As such, Derbyshire Federation held their first meeting of the Board of Trustees via Zoom recently, which went very well. The office remains closed with a staff member who lives nearby checking the mail regularly.

Facebook has been a good way for our members to keep in touch and the Board of Trustees are all still able to answer emails and telephone calls. Our national magazine, WI Life, arrived on time, but was written before the current health crisis began, portraying a very different world.

Many members have responded to the call for volunteers to help the NHS and many WIs have been making scrubs and other items. Newhall & District WI, for example, made over 100 washbags for scrubs, often adding treats for the nurses and doctors to enjoy when they can.

In the absence of activities, here, two Federation members tell readers about the

WI and their relationship to it.

One of the contributing members, Rosie, has recently been co-opted onto the Board of Trustees and we are looking forward to working with her.
