Septem­ber saw me pa­trolling the vil­lage to pick fruit from the abun­dant trees and bushes in our com­mu­nity. This year, ap­ple pies and crum­bles will re­main on the Tea­rooms spe­cials board un­til Christ­mas, such was the haul of cook­ing ap­ples I raided from var­i­ous sites.

Once col­lected, I drop off boxes of the fruit to vil­lagers and some re­cip­ro­cate with home­made chilli jelly (or sim­i­lar) in re­turn. A fair ex­change.
