More nostalgia at the Princess Theatre in Torquay later in the month with the pioneers of British Rhythm and Blues music, The Manfreds, and their very special guest Georgie Fame.
Featuring a line-up consisting of original Manfred Mann singer Paul Jones and his 1966 replacement Mike d’abo, along with founding members Mike Hugg and Tom Mcguinness, The Manfreds reformed in 1991, with drummer Rob Townsend (drummer in prog rock band Family), Marcus Cliffe and Simon Currie. The band’s hits come thick and fast – Do Wah Diddy, Pretty Flamingo, Sha La La and 5- 4-3-2-1. They also had individual hits such as Handbags and Gladrags (Mike D’abo) and the Mcguinness Flint classic When I’m Dead and Gone. Georgie Fame was no slouch when it came to generating hits – Yeh, Yeh, Get Away and The Ballad of Bonnie and Clyde. November 22 (atgtickets.com).
