Con­grat­u­la­tions to Ply­mouth and all us lovers of con­tem­po­rary fine art in the South West as the UK’S largest tour­ing ex­hi­bi­tion of con­tem­po­rary Bri­tish Art heads to the city again in 2021.

Ply­mouth will join Man­ches­ter, Wolver­hamp­ton and Aberdeen for the ninth it­er­a­tion of this pres­ti­gious ex­hi­bi­tion, which takes place only once ev­ery five years and show­cases new and re­cent works by Bri­tish-based con­tem­po­rary artists.

In Ply­mouth, the ex­hi­bi­tion will be led by The Box with a range of other city venues also ex­pected to take part.

Ply­mouth hosted Bri­tish Art Show 7 in 2011 when more than 75,000 vis­its were made to the ex­hi­bi­tion with an­other es­ti­mated 15,000 peo­ple tak­ing part in the as­so­ci­ated event, ed­u­ca­tion and Fringe pro­grammes. The artists for Bri­tish Art Show 9 will be con­firmed at a later date but works on dis­play will in­clude paint­ing, draw­ing, sculp­ture, in­stal­la­tion, video, film and per­for­mance.
