Highlights and previews.

THE specialist sale held on the 10th of August featured no fewer than nine private owner collection­s. The Surrey Collection included Corgi cars, TV and Film related vehicles, Corgi Rockets and Juniors, Dinky and Hot Wheels. The Essex Collection included further boxed and unboxed Corgi models, plus Gift Sets and Whizzwheel­s. Additional Corgi and Dinky models plus Tekno, Solido, French Dinky and white metal and resin models were found in The West Yorkshire Collection, The British Columbia Collection, and The Northumbri­an Collection. The Military Collection featured French Dinky military vehicles, The Robert Woodside Collection included Dinky trucks, cars, Corgi, Tri-ang and Spot-On, and The Cornish Collection featured Matchbox King Size, Major Packs, Accessory Packs, Gift Sets and Regular Wheels. Further lots included a Private Owner Collection of boxed Rio models, Matchbox Yesteryear and Brumm. Also in the sale were trucks and constructi­on vehicles, Brooklin Models, Automec, and further Corgi and Dinky.

Four lots that certainly drummed up their fair share of interest were a Corgi Juniors Club Racing gift set, a Dinky Toys Post Office Services gift set, a Dinky Toys UFO Intercepto­r and a French Dinky GMC Water Tanker.

Lot 1559 Corgi Juniors Whizzwheel­s No 3020 Club Racing Gift Set - light blue Ford Capri with white base, red Austin Healey Sprite, metallic purple Land Rover Wrecker Truck, steel blue Ford Escort Mk I, maroon Ferrari 512S and metallic purple Mini Cooper, complete with figures and cones in bags. Near mint to mint, inner plastic tray is excellent, outer blue and yellow window box is good. Estimate: £260 - £300 Sold For: £560

Lot 1585 Dinky Toys No 299 Post Office Services Gift Set - red Morris Commercial "Royal Mail" Delivery Van, green Morris "Post Office Telephones" Service Van, 2x figures and Public Telephone Box. Near mint to mint, inner pictorial stand is excellent plus, outer blue and white striped box is good plus. Estimate: £150 - £200 Sold For: £300 Lot 1076 Dinky Toys No 351 "UFO" SHADO Intercepto­r (not shown) - green, blue tinted windows, chrome interior, stickers intact, red legs, with white and orange missile, comes with No 7 catalogue in good condition, with artwork showing an Intercepto­r on the front cover and two signed trading cards. Good plus to excellent, inner pictorial stand is excellent, with correct instructio­n leaflet, outer yellow and red carded picture box is good plus. Estimate: £140 - £160 Sold For: £480

Lot 1334, French Dinky No 823 GMC Water Tanker (not shown) - drab green including concave hubs and tanker with filler caps, black plastic canopy, complete with road sign. Near mint, inner carded tray is near mint, outer carded picture box is good plus to excellent. Estimate: £120 - £150 Sold For: £520
