TIP 1: if you’re go­ing with this crop avoid shoot­ing with any­thing less than 100mm, other­wise you’ll have to ap­proach close to your model and her face will be­come un­pleas­antly dis­torted. if you don’t have a lens with that fo­cal length, go with a wider shot and crop it after.

TIP 2: Make sure you don’t get any strong reflections from the sur­round­ing sur­faces. For ex­am­ple, in this shoot we cov­ered the floor with black cloth so as not to get a brown­ish cast on the model’s face from the wooden floor. Ap­ply this prin­ci­ple on any sur­faces that are close to your model, if they’re not neu­tral in colour.
