Following the announcement of the collaboration between Vitec Group and

Sony as part of Gitzo’s 100th anniversary celebrations, Gitzo has introduced the Traveler A. This is a Gitzo GK1545TA Series 1 Traveler tripod kit that’s specifically designed for use with Sony a9 and a7-series cameras. It features Gitzo’s most compact professional carbon fibre tripod head, which has independent pan/tilt locks. In addition, the quick-release plate is shaped to fit the Sony cameras. This manifests itself as a lip that runs along the front edge of the camera, helping to prevent twisting.

Using Gitzo’s Carbon eXact tubing ensures the tripod is lightweight and has an extremely high-quality feel. It weighs just 1.43kg yet has a maximum shooting height of 165cm and can accept payloads of up to 10kg. It also packs down to 43cm and an Italian leather strap is provided for carrying it between shoots.
