Nikon brand ambassador Amy Shore shares how being affiliated with a brand has changed the way she works
DOES BEING A BRAND AMBASSADOR HELP YOUR BUSINESS?
Definitely. I mean, how cool does ‘Amy Shore: Nikon UK Ambassador’ sound? It’s honestly a dream come true, it’s truly something I never, ever, ever expected to be able to say. It gives me more credibility to those who don’t know my work, whether it’s other photographers or potential clients.
DO YOU THINK YOU GET MORE CLIENTS?
That’s a tough one... I’m not sure. I’m now fairly well known in the automotive world for my type of photography, but I do feel like I’ve been extra booked up since the beginning of my partnership with Nikon.
HAS IT CREATED ANY UNIQUE EXPERIENCES/ OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOU AS A PROFESSIONAL?
Yes! Until The Photography Show, I’d never spoken on stage to anyone before. That was a whole new experience, I really enjoyed it! To be asked so many questions from newer photographers is a new and cool experience too. Up until now (and still!) it’s been me asking other photographers for help, tips and advice, not the other way around!
HAS IT CHANGED THE WAY YOU WORK?
I suppose it’s made me more confident. Photographers can be prone to self criticism, and it can be so hard to like your own work or to see worth. To have one of the biggest camera companies in the world recognise me and my work – well, it’s a compliment, to say the least!
