LOW-LIGHT AF
Canon claims that the EOS R’s 5,655-position AF system works at -6EV, which is near darkness, and in our testing it was able to cope well with very low light conditions.
FLEXIBLE PRIORITY MODE
In this mode you can set shutter speed, aperture and sensitivity (ISO) manually or let the camera set any (or all) of them automatically. You can also apply exposure compensation.
WIRELESS IMAGE TRANSFER
The Bluetooth system in the EOS R simplifies making a Wi-Fi connection to a paired smartphone to speed up transferring images. It even works if the camera is powered down.
4K VIDEO
While the EOS R can shoot 4K (3,840 x 2,160) at 29.97/25p and 23.98/24p, a 1.7x crop is applied so you don’t get the wide view of full-frame lenses.
DUAL PIXEL RAW
When Dual Pixel Raw shooting is selected in the menu, the data from the paired dual pixels makes it possible to fine-tune the sharpness of files using Canon’s DPP software.
