“SO MUCH OF THE WAY WE EXPERIENCE LIFE IS DEPENDENT ON HOW WE CHOOSE TO LOOK AT IT”

- MATT BENNETT, EDITOR matthew.bennett@futurenet.com

Welcome to the latest issue of DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHER magazine. If you’ve ever been through hard times in life, you’ve probably had friends and family tell you that so much of the way we experience life is dependent on how we choose to look at it. Of course, this is often much easier said than done, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not true – and it’s certainly very true when it comes to photography.

As photographers, part of what we do is show the world in a way that’s somehow surprising or thoughtprovoking. By adopting a different perspective, and using it creatively, we can do precisely that. In the feature that starts on p34 of the magazine, Lee

Frost explores many ways to get creative with perspective, which will in turn help you to produce more striking compositions.

There’s also a guide to getting more from your kit, so if you’re stuck in a creative rut, the feature on p48 is sure to help.

It’s certainly nothing new to say that video is a key part of many professional photographers’ workflows these days, and our feature on p62 of the magazine takes a look at the essential video-based skills that you need to know.

There’s also a range of interviews, image galleries, expert product reviews and industry news for you to get your teeth into, and our regular career guide. The group test this issue compares DSLRs with their mirrorless counterparts.

As always, we’d love to see some of your own images, so please upload them to our Facebook page at WWW.FACEBOOK.COM/DIGITALPHOTOGRAPHERUK.

Until next time, enjoy your photography!
