USE COLOUR GRADING

Discover ways to edit the style, feel and look of clips in Adobe Premiere Pro CC

-

1 OPEN UP THE SOFTWARE

Import all your footage into the workspace. It’s easier to colour and correct all your clips at the same time before you start to cut them.

2 CHOSEN TWEAK THE BASICS

Select your clip. Go to the Color tab at the top and use the Basic Correction section to make technical tweaks to White Balance and Tone.

3 APPLY PRESETS

In the Creative tab, try out different Looks from the menu. You can change the Vibrance and Tint Balance using the Adjustments sliders.

4 ADD CURVES

Go to the next Curves section to refine the look you’ve applied by adding RGB Curves and a Hue Saturation Curve. Keep checking the result as you edit.

5 CONSISTENT COLOUR

In Color Match, click Apply Match (with Comparison View and Face Detection activated) to make all shots look like they belong to the same scene.

6 GET ADVANCED

Use the HSL Secondary panel to adjust shadows, midtones, and highlights using the colour wheels. Add a vignette as the last step if desired.
