MAKE YOUR CAMERA QUICK TO USE
Essential settings for success
If you’re going to be shooting in an environment where light levels are likely to change and your subject is moving, set up your camera so as many features as possible are automated – but retain some control over image quality.
2 MINIMUM SHUTTER SPEED
This lets you tell the camera what the slowest shutter speed you want it to set is, such as 1/1,000sec, so you know you can freeze subject movement.
4JPEG
RAW AND
CAPTURE
If you select both, every shot you take will be recorded as a RAW file and a JPEG. This means you can choose either to save processing time.
1
AUTO ISO
These settings allow you to set an ISO range with a maximum and minimum, such as 100-1600. The camera will automatically adjust the ISO within this range.
3 SET AI FOCUS
This AF mode automatically switches between One Shot and Servo AF depending on if your subject is stationary or moving. It’s useful for unpredictable movement.
5 CHOOSE A PICTURE STYLE
If you intend to produce black and white images, set your camera to shoot in RAW and JPEG and also select Monochrome picture style.
