POTATO POTY CONTEST UNPEELED
Enter now to win £1,000 in prizes and help food banks
Potato Photographer of the Year 2020 has just launched. It’s a new photo contest open to anyone with an interest in photography and potatoes that will help to support food banks in the UK.
The idea was inspired by the photo of a potato (Potato #345 (2010)), taken by acclaimed photographer Kevin Abosch, which sold for $1 million in 2016. All proceeds from this competition will go towards the Trussell Trust, which supports a nationwide network of food banks and provides emergency food and support to people locked in poverty (WWW.TRUSSELLTRUST.ORG).
Flex your creative muscles and see how you can artistically capture the beauty of a potato. Show the judges – an expert panel including Martin Parr, Paul Hill, Nigel Atherton, Angela Nicholson, and Benedict Brain – what you’re made of.
The £1,000 prize offering includes a Fujifilm X-A7, a year’s membership to the Royal Photographic Society, a one-to-one workshop, and a three-year subscription to Photocrowd master-level.
