GANNET TRAILS

This is a 4 second exposure which shows the motion of circling gannets up in the Shetland Islands. With my camera mounted on a tripod I reduced my ISO to its minimum of

100 and then closed my aperture right down to f/29. I also employed a polarising filter and graduated neutral density filters to reduce the light entering the camera and thereby extending the shutter speed up to 4 seconds.
