ALTERNATIVE LIGHTING TIPS

-

Create different results by moving your light around

To capture this result of our frozen tulips we first had to pop a black background behind our ice block. Something like a piece of black card or a black reflector panel will do the trick.

If you angle your flashgun straight on to the ice, the light will reflect back and create unwanted bright patches in your image. For this reason we had our flash positioned to our camera left and pulled back to spread it out as evenly as possible. At the editing stage in Lightroom we adjusted our texture and clarity sliders to bring out the detail in the ice.
