A CAPTURE MAD ANGLE

Reach a different perspective by shooting up at an angle to your target

-

Low angles can make movement in your photo more dramatic by increasing the perceived height of your subject. This shift in perspective is particularly useful for action shots, where you often want the subject to seem powerful to a viewer. As most action cameras can be controlled remotely, it’s then a good idea to leave them in or under the line of fire and trigger them from your smartphone as the action happens.

1 Choose burst preset All action cameras offer a rapid continuous shooting mode. We switched the GoPro Hero 10 to LiveBurst, recording the moments 1.5 seconds before and after pressing the shutter, so that we didn’t miss the perfect frame. particularly useful for action shots, where you often want the subject to seem powerful to a viewer. 2 LiveBurst settings Head into the LiveBurst preset settings, and there you can change the amount of frames that the camera takes when you fire the shutter. We chose Auto, and let the GoPro decide how many frames to capture for us.

3 Framing For a shot like this, you’ll need to get your action camera down low to the ground and angle it upwards. Pair the camera with a smartphone, and it will be a lot easier to use your phone screen to check the composition and reposition the camera.

4 Fire and retry Use the smartphone app to fire the camera remotely, as you won’t be able to operate it on the ground. Moving shots like this can be hit and miss in terms of focus and timing, so if possible, ask your subject to repeat a movement or action.
