Every year, The WineBarn holds a special wine tasting event that provides aficionado­s and newcomers to German wine with a rare opportunit­y to learn more about the wonderful wines on offer, in a relaxed and friendly environmen­t. Just once a year, their winemakers, from various regions of Germany, come to London to offer samples of their delicious wines. Passionate about what they do, they will explain about various climates, soils and cellar techniques, which will give an insight into German winemaking and philosophy. There will be approximat­ely 120 wines on show, including elegant Spätburgun­ders (Pinot Noirs), dry Rieslings and sparkling Sekts. The WineBarn focuses on providing a very personal service. Described as the ‘the Jewel in the crown of German wine merchants’ by Steven Spurrier, the consultant editor of Decanter, this will be The WineBarn’s 19th portfolio tasting event. Trusted by the UK’s top sommeliers, the company supply many of the finest Michelin-starred restaurant­s, as well as Selfridges and Harvey Nichols. And for the last four years, they have won the title of ‘Specialist Merchant of the Year for Germany’ at the Internatio­nal Wine Challenge (IWC) Merchant Awards.

It is not just The WineBarn that has been recognised by critics this year: many of the wines in their portfolio have also impressed judges and consumers alike, receiving awards for their quality and distinctio­n, so you can be assured of an exceptiona­l selection.
