Every year, The WineBarn holds a special wine tasting event that provides aficionados and newcomers to German wine with a rare opportunity to learn more about the wonderful wines on offer, in a relaxed and friendly environment. Just once a year, their winemakers, from various regions of Germany, come to London to offer samples of their delicious wines. Passionate about what they do, they will explain about various climates, soils and cellar techniques, which will give an insight into German winemaking and philosophy. There will be approximately 120 wines on show, including elegant Spätburgunders (Pinot Noirs), dry Rieslings and sparkling Sekts. The WineBarn focuses on providing a very personal service. Described as the ‘the Jewel in the crown of German wine merchants’ by Steven Spurrier, the consultant editor of Decanter, this will be The WineBarn’s 19th portfolio tasting event. Trusted by the UK’s top sommeliers, the company supply many of the finest Michelin-starred restaurants, as well as Selfridges and Harvey Nichols. And for the last four years, they have won the title of ‘Specialist Merchant of the Year for Germany’ at the International Wine Challenge (IWC) Merchant Awards.
