Culinary delights and art at the Rhine

-

The Bistro Restaurant Chez Jeannot isn’t only a unique hangout place that impresses with its special Paris-feel for visitors of Basel’s Museum Tinguely. Besides offering tasty bistro delicacies, one can also enjoy wonderful views across the Rhine, right here.

Situated right at the banks of the Rhine, in Basel’s Museum Tinguely, one can find the Bistro Restaurant Chez Jeannot, whose interior has been completely refurbished. Since January, the establishment has thus presented itself as a modern and cosy French-Mediterranean bistro that is equipped with works by Jean Tinguely.“It invites museum visitors for a relaxing cup of coffee, as well as families and walkers, with its range of bistro delicacies – plus, it is great for business lunches, too,” smiles Lukas Burkart, restaurant manager of Chez Jeannot.

In a culinary sense, the Chez Jeannot offers fresh, seasonal and regional dishes, such as the Angus Entrecote with meat from Switzerland, or the restaurant’s classic Cordon bleu. “We put special emphasis on Swiss products and regionality – also with our Swiss wine specialities, ”says Lukas. Further highlights are the sun terrace and the beach bar in summer, which especially attract visitors of the ‘Rheinschwumm’. Seasonal offerings like picnic hampers, fondues in winter or etagere-brunches round off the annual offering. Furthermore, the bistro can be booked for private and business events, too.
