History, hydrotherapy and adventure in the Black Forest
No matter if nature lover, on a family holiday or exploring German history, Bad Wildbad is a great destination allyear-round. In the 19th century, the spa town was already serving as a popular destination for many. Today, it is not only acclaimed for its historic bathing culture, but also for adventures close to nature in the Black Forest.
The wild and romantic Spa Garden, established in 1699, is the heart of Bad Wildbad: with its historic buildings, plant varieties and river Enz flowing next to the footpath, the park has a lot to offer.
Another highlight is the Sommerberg, with the funicular mountain railway, treetop walk, adventure playground, suspension bridge WILDLINE and fairy-tale path. Hikers and cyclists will also enjoy the fresh air and calming atmosphere. With 93 per cent covered by forests, the city offers a special experience of nature. Additionally, the upland moor on the Kaltenbronn is well worth a visit.
Bad Wildbad is a destination for culture enthusiasts. Originally built as a magnificent 19th-century bath, the Forum KönigKarls-Bad now serves as a space for conferences, concerts and events. Guests can experience the city’s traditional thermal waters in the Palais Thermal or the Vital Therme. The city also hosts the yearly Rossini Festival at unique locations like the treetop walk or the Royal Spa Theatre.
