A barbecue in the garden, some hiking outdoors – when suddenly, a pesky mosquito has bitten. With the innovative plaster Moskinto, the swelling and itching can be treated without the use of medication.

Andreas Jetter had initially worked as a sports teacher, but then had an accident, breaking various cervical vertebrae. He was treated with kinesiology tapes, which fascinated him, because his injury could be mended without the use of medication. Jetter then started selling these tapes in Germany. Eventually, a conversation with a customer brought him to the idea of arranging the tapes as a grid, to put them on a mosquito bite – and thus, Moskinto had been created.

The plaster helps relieve swelling and itching with a purely mechanical effect – the outer layer of the skin is lifted up just a little. The effect is not scientifically proven and is based purely on experience, but the testimonies of others have been positive, too. The plaster stays on the skin for four to seven days, and afterwards it either falls off or can be removed. The plasters are particularly useful for children, as Jetter explains: “Our six-year-old daughter can now treat her mosquito or tick bites and bee stings without our help. Parents know how unpleasant itching is for kids. In summer and during the holiday season, children often cannot sleep at night due to the itching and they scrape the bites in a bad way. ”Moskinto puts an end to this. Stored in a small, practical box, the plasters can be carried everywhere. They are also waterproof and free of latex.

The plasters are available in pharmacies, drugstores and in the online shop. “Our aim is to sell our product in many countries,” Jetter says. “At the moment, we supply about 40 countries with our product, and we would like to grow further.”
