Welcome at Kunstsupermarkt:
The supermarket for art
The concept is as plausible as it is brilliant: a supermarket where you can buy contemporary original art for relatively low fixed prices. The legendary Kunstsupermarkt is the counterpart to high-end, over-priced galleries and provides access to art for a broad clientele.
Since its founding over 20 years ago, Kunstsupermarkt has sold thousands of artworks. Today, it’s more popular than ever. Fixed prices from 69 euros, 129 euros, 249 euros to 359 euros ensure that the artworks remain affordable. Aside from established artists, the supermarket also presents young and unknown artists. Carefully selected new additions create a diverse and dynamic new programme each season.
During the winter months, Kunstsupermarkt tours different cities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as a pop-up shop. The permanently opened store on the isle of Sylt and the online shop offer the opportunity to browse the vast and incredibly varied selection all year round.
“Our customers trust their gut instincts, or they bring a photo of the space the painting will be in. Others just want to buy something nice, particularly because the price tags are so different from those in big auction houses and galleries, ”founder and art-ethnologist Julia Loytved says.
