We call these cycles intrauterine insemination or IUI. Sperm, from your donor, is passed through a tube into the uterus. The team can also assist you with information on sperm donation. EGG-SHARING This involves having an IVF cycle and donating half of the eggs created and collected to another woman/couple who cannot conceive with her own eggs, or a gay male couple who do not have their own eggs. SHARED MOTHERHOOD This option is for couples who want to share the experience of creating an embryo through an IVF cycle and carrying the pregnancy, and is a popular and successful option for many lesbian/bisexual couples. IN VITRO FERTILISATION (IVF) One woman/partner creates her eggs through an IVF cycle. Eggs are collected and embryo created by combining the egg/sperm in a dish in the lab and the embryo is transferred back into the uterus. FERTILITY PRESERVATION Also known as egg freezing, this option allows you to preserve your eggs to use in the future. Eggs are collected and then frozen to be thawed for fertilisation when you or your partner are ready to conceive.
