If you want to cre­ate a pond, build them in late win­ter as they es­tab­lish them­selves quicker at this time of year ready for spring. Some am­phib­ians such as frogs are now more com­mon in gar­den ponds than the coun­try­side, so you will be con­tribut­ing to­wards an abun­dance of wildlife in the county.
