POND OF LIFE
For those with existing garden ponds scoop out any leaves that have blown in before they sink and start to rot. Also cut back foliage of marginal plants that have died down.
If you want to create a pond, build them in late winter as they establish themselves quicker at this time of year ready for spring. Some amphibians such as frogs are now more common in garden ponds than the countryside, so you will be contributing towards an abundance of wildlife in the county.
