There’s a lot go­ing on in the lead up to Chrst­mas at this newly opened his­toric venue on High Street West.

Fa­ther Christ­mas will be hold­ing court in the Shire Hall court­room on night (4 – 8pm, 6 De­cem­ber), and then ev­ery Satur­day (11am1pm & 2- 4pm) un­til 23 De­cem­ber. Ev­ery young­ster will re­ceive a spe­cial Christ­mas Gift and Santa has promised that none of them will get ‘sent down’! Join cel­list Sally Flann and vi­o­lin­ist Rus­sell Daw­son at 1pm for a lunchtime of well-known Christ­mas favourites with some de­light­ful mu­si­cal sur­prises. Join the New Hardy Play­ers for a feast of tra­di­tional sea­sonal en­ter­tain­ment of lo­cal and well-known Christ­mas car­ols, mid­win­ter po­etry from Thomas Hardy and Wil­liam Barnes, dra­matic scenes from the Mayor of Caster­bridge and Un­der the Green­wood Tree; and a Christ­mas Mum­mers play. Di­rected by Tim Lay­cock. Starts 7.30pm En­joy fes­tive tune and car­ols with this team of hand­bell ringers in the Shire Hall Café from 3pm.
