My Blandford Forum Christmas

Dorset - - Blandford -

It’s all hands to the pump at the Blandford brewery where we make our range of

Badger beers. In the run-up to Christmas our Badger team ensure that all the pubs, and supermarkets, have everything they need for the festivities. We’re so busy that we end up having our team Christmas parties in January! My cousin Mark Woodhouse (Chairman of

Hall & Woodhouse) and I visit all our managed pubs in December to wish them a Happy Christmas. Mark takes it to the extreme - on Christmas Day he visits up to 25 of our Business Partner pubs to give them a truckle of cheese to put on the bar for their guests. The Blandford Yuletide Festival is the high point for me. It’s a wonderful opportunity to do some local shopping - my favourite is Hambledon Gallery on Salisbury Street. I also browse the craft stalls in the Sealy Suite at the Crown Hotel during the Yuletide Festival. Christmas is normally spent at home with my very large family, punctuated with trips to the pub for a pint of Badger or two, with the Crown Hotel in Blandford being a favourite haunt on Boxing Day.
