I was study­ing chem­istry whilst do­ing a part-time job as a kitchen porter in a 2 rosette ho­tel. I soon felt that love of cook­ing that my Gran gave me com­ing back, so when an op­por­tu­nity arose for me to train as a chef there I leapt at the chance.
