Ear­lier date for Elec­tric Fields fes­ti­val

Elec­tric Fields is to re­turn for a sixth year but with an ear­lier date of July in 2019.

It will be held from July 4 to 6 in the grounds of Drum­lan­rig Cas­tle and coun­try es­tate near Thorn­hill.

Or­gan­is­ers say that although Elec­tric Fields cel­e­brated its land­mark fifth birth­day this sum­mer with a ca­pac­ity crowd of 7,000, the fes­ti­val will re­turn to the reg­u­lar ca­pac­ity of 5000.

And they ex­pect tick­ets will be in even higher de­mand. They are now avail­able for pur­chase via the Elec­tric Fields web­site, in­clud­ing Adult Early Bird Tick­ets start­ing at £110 for the whole three days.

Over the years Elec­tric Fields has played host to some huge artists, as well as show­cas­ing some of the most ex­cit­ing up and com­ing and crit­i­cally ac­claimed acts around.

These in­clude Noel Gal­lagher, Fright­ened Rab­bit, Pri­mal Scream, Dizzee Ras­cal, The Char­la­tans, Left­field, Arab Strap, James, Young Fathers, Teenage Fan­club, Band of Horses, Pub­lic Ser­vice Broad­cast­ing, Idlewild, Kate Tem­pest, The Je­sus and Mary Chain, Steve Ma­son, The Twi­light Sad, Ezra Fur­man, Idles, King Cre­osote, Ghost­poet, The Co­ral, Honey­blood, Songhoy Blues and Father­son.
