Rust ling up tasty treats a piece of cake for Linda

Mem­bers of Kirkma­hoe SWI were in foodie heaven at their lat­est meet­ing when they were given a bak­ing demon­stra­tion by Linda McTurk.

Pres­i­dent Chris­tine Wil­liamson wel­comed ev­ery­one be­fore in­tro­duc­ing Linda, a skilled baker and caterer, who de­lighted the au­di­ence with her bak­ing skills.

Linda pro­vided recipe sheets for the six un­cooked tray­bakes she made and dur­ing the demon­stra­tion she gave valu­able bak­ing tips, while en­ter­tain­ing with anec­dotes and tales of bak­ing mishaps, which can hap­pen to the best of bak­ers.

This was a well-timed theme, show­ing bak­ing to fill the tins for Christ­mas. Nat­u­rally the fin­ished ar­ti­cle had to be tasted and mem­bers were happy to oblige.

Fiona Sweeney thanked Linda for an en­joy­able, in­for­ma­tive evening. The next meet­ing will be held in Kirk­ton Hall on Jan­uary 9 when the speaker will be Ju­dith from the Blood Bikes char­ity.
