Mrs Irv­ing wel­comed Kirk­michael XYZ club mem­bers to the Oc­to­ber meet­ing in the parish hall.

Apolo­gies were re­ceived then busi­ness was dis­cussed be­fore the menu for the Christ­mas lunch was given out and mem­bers made their choice. It was noted that fi­nan­cial fund­ing could be made avail­able for older peo­ple.

An up­date for the bob­ble hats was given and the Vic­to­rian mem­o­ries box made mem­bers nos­tal­gic when they recog­nised many house­hold items they saw in the grand­par­ents homes. Mem­bers also en­joyed puz­zles, games, books and a 19th cen­tury dress pack and var­i­ous posters from that era.

The win­ners of Mrs Irv­ing’s Vic­to­rian Quiz were Mrs Copeland and Mrs Krause.

The next meet­ing took the form of a DIY day. Mrs Lock­hart had a gen­eral knowl­edge quiz which was won by Mrs Pear­son and Mrs Bell. Mrs Pear­son also won Mrs Swan’s bird names quiz. Mem­bers were then en­ter­tained with a bee­tle drive which was won by Mrs Boyce and the booby prize by Mrs Pear­son.

To round off the meet­ing, mem­bers en­joyed a funny quotes quiz from around the world given by Mrs Lock­hart be­fore hav­ing tea served by Mrs Ni­chol­son after which the raf­fle took place.
