An­niver­sary din­ner

Thorn­hill and District’s St An­drew’s an­niver­sary din­ner at the Buc­cleuch Ho­tel in Thorn­hill on Fri­day, Novem­ber 30, was very well at­tended.

After an ex­cel­lent meal, Morag Mur­ray said grace then pres­i­dent Colin Gib­son in­tro­duced David Baird who pro­posed the toast to St An­drew and Scot­land which was well re­ceived.

Wil­lie Pren­tice played a se­lec­tion of tunes on the small pipes fol­lowed by Les By­ers who re­cited and also in­vited the guests to join in singing some favourite songs. Colin Gib­son sang and ac­com­pa­nied him­self on gui­tar.

The vote of thanks was given by Ian Mil­lar and the evening ended with every­one join­ing in to sing Auld Lang Syne.
