Police had to deal with a weekend of violence in Dumfries.
Six serious assaults were reported between Friday morning and Sunday, with one person charged with attempted murder.
Two people also face charges of assault to severe injury following an incident in Rankine Avenue on Friday.
Another two were arrested and charged following an incident at a town centre pub in the early hours of Sunday.
And police are investigating a reported assault at The Venue nightclub in the town shortly before 1.30am on Sunday.
Superintendent Mark Hollis said:“I want to remind everyone that throwing a single punch can have devastating consequences.”
