Parkrun cel­e­brates its first birth­day

Mem­bers of Crich­ton parkrun cel­e­brated the pop­u­lar event’s first birth­day on Saturday.

The 5k run or walk is open to all ages and will­ing helpers made sure it went off smoothly from the Crich­ton Memo­rial Church with chil­dren, bug­gies and dogs all made wel­come.

The Crich­ton parkrun is or­gan­ised by a ded­i­cated team of vol­un­teers, led by event di­rec­tor Emma Eden, and they are look­ing for­ward to wel­com­ing new­com­ers of all ages who want to join in in 2019.

The free and timed 5K event for peo­ple of all abil­i­ties starts from the church ev­ery Saturday.

As well as peo­ple in­vited to join in by run­ning or walk­ing in the fab­u­lous Crichtion grounds each week­end, the parkrun is also look­ing for vol­un­teers to help man it.
