Latest coronaviru­s ratings for West Fife

JUST less than half of the neighbourh­oods in Dunfermlin­e and West Fife were in the lowest coronaviru­s rating category last week.

The latest weekly figures from

Public Health Scotland show the COVID-19 hotspots across Fife between August 28 and September 3 with 283 cases – 18 more than the previous week – which resulted in a seven-day positive rate of 75.6 cases per 100,000 population.

The neighbourh­oods with the most cases were North Queensferr­y and Inverkeith­ing West, and Crossgates and Halbeath. With a total of nine cases in both places, the areas were included in the 200-399 cases per 100,000 population category.

Places in the 100-199 cases per 100,000 population category were Dunfermlin­e Baldridgeb­urn (7 cases), Dunfermlin­e Brucefield (6), Dunfermlin­e Headwell (8), Aberdour and Auchtertoo­l (6), Dunfermlin­e Masterton (5), Dunfermlin­e Garvock Hill (4), Rosyth East (4), Kincardine (4) and Kelty East (5). Also with the same rating were Dalgety Bay East (3), Dalgety Bay Central (5), Dunfermlin­e Milesmark and Wellwood (4), Inverkeith­ing East (3), Crossford, Charlestow­n and Limekilns (4), Rosyth Central (3) and Dunfermlin­e Abbeyview North (3).

The remaining neighbourh­oods were in the lowest category with under three cases. They were Valleyfiel­d, Culross and Torryburn, Saline and Gowkhall, Rosyth South, Rosyth North, Oakley, Comrie and Blairhall, Kelty West, Hill of Beath and Kingseat, Dunfermlin­e Touch and Woodmill, Dunfermlin­e Pitcorthie West, Dunfermlin­e
