HMV returns to Dunfermline

-

DUNFERMLINE’S new HMV store is set to open its doors in the Kingsgate tomorrow (Friday).

And the first 25 customers through the door will receive a free goodie bag, while all shoppers will be able to take advantage of limited deals, including three for £55 on Vinyl.

The 4,359-square-foot shop will be spread over two floors and will offer more than 14,000 products, including 3,600 different vinyl albums.

It will also stock 2,800 CDs, 4,850 DVDs and 2,400 pop culture products across franchises such as Pokemon, Star Wars, Marvel and DC, with more than 450 different T-shirt designs.

There had been a temporary store in the Kingsgate around a decade ago, according to centre manager Neil Mackie, who said the new venture was “brilliant” to see in the city.

Last year, the company was bought out of administration by Sunrise Records, a Canadian company, who also own Fopp.

Derek Regan, store manager, said: “We’re excited to open our brand-new Dunfermline store in the Kingsgate Shopping Centre, offering the best in entertainment products across music, film, TV, Pop Culture and technology. We can’t wait to open our doors next month and welcome back our customers with fantastic offers.”

The shop will take up units 53/65 which were home previously to Dorothy Perkins and Burton, and will create nine new jobs in the area.

Customers can also use the ‘HMV delivers’ service, which allows any items not in store to be delivered direct.

Its opening hours will be Monday to Wednesday 9am to 5pm, Thursday 9am to 7pm, Saturday 9am to 5.30pm and Sunday 11am to 5pm.
