Double dip as Rosyth add two new signings

-

ROSYTH have completed a signing double by snapping up Jay Tapping and Kieran Dall.

The duo, formerly of Cumbernauld Colts and Dundonald Bluebell, made their debuts for the club in Saturday’s win over Leith Athletic.

They are new manager Greig Denham’s first arrivals since he took over last month, and he commented: “We’ve brought in

Jay (pictured right) and Kieran, and we’re delighted to get both of them on board.

“Both of them started the game on Saturday. It might have been a little bit quick and early for them to be thrown in, but needs must. I thought the two of them applied themselves really well.

“Jay, we know all about his qualities; his composure, his range of passing. It’s just really about getting minutes into his legs now, getting him up to speed.

“Kieran, after speaking to him after the game, I think it was the first time in a long time he’d actually played for an hour. Again, it’s just building up the game time in the coming weeks, and he’ll get stronger and better as we go.”

Denham revealed that Dall, who was once part of the youth system at Raith Rovers, has been hampered in recent times by injury, and added: “He needs to be given a bit of confidence back, and obviously a run of games, which will benefit him and make him stronger.

“We’re really delighted with what we’ve seen so far. He’s shown he’s got quality. He’s got good feet, he’s quick, he’s direct and he’s versatile. We played him right midfield on Saturday, but I think his preferred position is as a striker. It gives us options that we didn’t have previously.”

Meanwhile, Oakley United have also dipped into the market to sign defender Greg Stapleton from Newburgh Juniors.
