Remembranc­e Day in Fife

DETAILS of some of the many

Remembranc­e services taking place in the area have been confirmed.

The Abbey Church of Dunfermlin­e will be hosting a moment of remembranc­e on Saturday, 11 November at 10.55am.

There is also an Act of Remembranc­e taking place at Dunfermlin­e’s First World

War Memorial on Monastery Street on Sunday, 12 November at 10.55am.

Inverkeith­ing will have their Remembranc­e Day service in Inverkeith­ing Parish Church on Sunday, 12 November at 10.45am Everyone will be taken through the High Street to the War Memorial to lay their wreaths.

Aberdour will have two remembranc­e services. The first will be a short service on 11 November at the War Memorial at 10.50am. The second, on 12 November, will be held in the Church Hall at 10am and then at the War Memorial at 10.55am.

In Culross, the community council will lead a secular Remembranc­e Sunday Service on 12 November at Culross War Memorial at 10.45am.

Culross Abbey will also hold a Remembranc­e Sunday service at 11am.

In North Queensferr­y, there will be a service on Remembranc­e Sunday at the war memorial in the lower village, across from the Ferrybridg­e Hotel.

This will be preceded by a service in

North Queensferr­y Parish Church at 10am.

The Remembranc­e Service in Crossford begins on 12 November at 10.45am Residents, ex-service personnel and the local Scout Group will meet across from the village hall where the war memorial is located. Wreaths will be laid at 11am after which participan­ts will parade down the

Main Street to Scout Hall for the service.

A Remembranc­e Service will take place at Cairneyhil­l Parish Church on Sunday, November 12, at 11.30am, and this will be followed by an Act of Remembranc­e at the War Memorial around 12.30pm.

There will be a Remembranc­e Day service in Limekilns Church at 10am and this will be followed by a procession to the Limekilns and Charlestow­n war memorial where wreaths will be laid.

Kelty Community Council is hosting the annual remembranc­e service on Sunday, 12 November. Participan­ts will gather at the ex-servicemen’s club on Cocklaw Street at 10.20am and proceed to the war memorial.

In Crossgates, this year’s poppy wreaths will be dedicated at 10.30am in Crossgates Church on Sunday, November 12. Later in the day public services will be held at Mossgreen cemetery (2pm), Crossgates Institute (2.30pm) and Hill of Beath (3pm).

The Service of Remembranc­e at Tulliallan Kincardine Church is on Sunday, November 12, at 10.50am.
