Crowds wowed by Knockhill’s fireworks spectacular

-

LIGHT filled the sky and wowed the crowds on Saturday evening as Knockhill Racing Circuit brought the curtain down on 2023 in spectacular style.

After a year of action-packed events, the last of them drew thousands more to its iconic venue to enjoy its annual live action and fireworks spectacular.

Sold-out for a third year in a row - including three lucky winners, thanks to a ticket competition run by the Press in conjunction with Knockhill - the event provided a day of entertainment on and off the track.

Car displays, demonstrations and even tours of the track on a bus were on offer for those attending, in addition to special promotions, a kids’ funfair and a variety of food outlets and merchandise stalls.

A bonfire and fireworks display, which was co-ordinated by the

Edinburgh 21CC Fireworks Company, was the star of the show, however, and provided a stunning conclusion to a busy year at Scotland’s national motorsport centre.

Stuart Gray, director of events at Knockhill, said: “It was excellent and a great weekend.

“We’ve had great feedback; probably about 3,000 comments and likes across our social media, which is exceptional.

“It was a great way to end the year.” With events at the circuit concluded for 2023, plans are already at an advanced stage for next year, which will the venue’s 50th anniversary.

Dates already confirmed include the Bennetts British Superbike Championship, which will run from June 14-16, and the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship, which is scheduled to take place over the weekend of August 10-11.
