Brand new restaurant for Oaksmere Hotel
The Oaksmere Hotel near Diss on the Suffolk/Norfolk border is due to fully re-open its doors later this summer with a brand new restaurant, private dining rooms, and a new marquee for weddings, corporate events and parties
The Oaksmere aims to be one of the region’s finest destination venues, known for excellent food, luxurious hotel stays, picture-perfect weddings, bespoke events and its friendly pub. The grade II listed Tudor and Victorian building has 10 deluxe bedrooms and four suites, which have been designed with an emphasis on relaxation and quality. The main restaurant is being extended out to the terrace to provide 100 covers. It will have modern drop-down lighting, and a contemporary urban feel, with brick, brushed steel, copper, and pearl oak flooring. Head chef Nick ClaxtonWebb, formerly of Congham Hall, Norfolk, will be producing some of the best modern British food using the finest ingredients East Anglia has to offer. The kitchen houses a British-made Bertha charcoal oven, while The Oaksmere also has its own onsite butchery and kitchen garden. All the beef is from local suppliers, one of which is from Warren Hills Farm that adjoins The Oaksmere’s parkland. Pork is from the Butler family’s Blythburgh Free Range Pork.
