FANCY A ( MUCH) LONGER WALK?

EADT Suffolk - - Suffolk Walk -

Kedington is linked to Haverhill by the well-signed long distance footpath, the Stour Valley Path (see www. dedhamvalestourvalley.org). So, if you’re up for a real ramble, why not head out from Haverhill’s East Town Park (CB9 7UW – site has visitor centre, toilets and parking), following the waymarkers east along the old railway line to walk to Kedington? Enjoy the ‘really smart little stroll’ loop to Barnardiston and back before retracing your steps to town, or - if you’ve got good boots and a sense of adventure – before following your nose, the OS map and field margin footpaths west across the arable lands of Dane Common to drop down into Haverhill via Chalkstone Way to the bus station. Either way the walk adds about 6.25 miles (10 kms) to the featured countryside loop.
