Strad­broke, in High Suf­folk, is a vil­lage at the cen­tre of other sur­round­ing smaller vil­lages and ham­lets, so it has god fa­cil­i­ties in­clud­ing two pubs, sev­eral shops and many other lo­cal ser­vices in­clud­ing a pub­lic li­brary, a mod­ern com­mu­nity cen­tre, a swim­ming pool and a gym, ex­ten­sive play­ing fields for cricket and foot­ball, ten­nis courts and two bowl­ing greens. There is also a fit­ness track and 12 miles of pub­lic foot­paths for walk­ing in the coun­try­side. Strad­broke also serves as a cen­tre for ed­u­ca­tion for Mid Suf­folk and has both a pri­mary school and a high school in the vil­lage, which con­trib­ute to the vil­lage’s rich cul­tural and so­cial calendar. Strad­broke is a good place to base your­self for a walk­ing break in the north of the county, where you can ex­plore the many vil­lages and nearby towns of Eye and Diss.
