Set in 175 acres of coun­try­side, the ho­tel is peace­ful and tran­quil. The 16th cen­tury hall is ide­ally si­t­u­ated for those plan­ning to ex­plore Suffolk with Hintlesham as your base it doesn’t take long to head out to nu­mer­ous lo­cal at­trac­tions. The ho­tel boasts 32 in­di­vid­u­ally dec­o­rated rooms, mod­ern yet re­main­ing tra­di­tion­ally dec­o­rated to tie in with the his­tory of the manor house. Some have four poster or canopy beds, some tim­bered; some pan­eled but each with its own in­di­vid­u­al­ity, warm and invit­ing fea­tur­ing works of art, and some rooms even have their own lit­tle court­yards with out­side fur­ni­ture. Car­rier’s the ho­tel’s restau­rant is a grand space with high ceil­ings, long drapes and oil paint­ings, just what you would ex­pect from a stately English home. In the evenings the restau­rant of­fers the op­tion of a two or three course set menu the Ta­ble d’Hote or an a la carte menu. For those look­ing for a lighter bite, there is also an in­for­mal lounge menu that can be en­joyed in the bar, draw­ing room, ter­race or the gar­den. Af­ter­noon tea is also served ev­ery­day. The Spa is a haven of re­lax­ation of­fer­ing an ar­ray of won­der­ful treat­ments, which can be pur­chased sep­a­rately or as a pack­age to en­hance your stay. An 18-hole golf course is ad­ja­cent to the ho­tel and the ho­tel staff can ar­range book­ings.
