Step in­side the iconic, fully work­ing Tide

Mill, a liv­ing mu­seum, sit­ting on the banks of Wood­bridge’s River Deben. You will see how the flour is milled, find out how bread is made and learn about all the parts of the ma­chin­ery and its work­ings. The au­then­tic work­ing craft mill turns reg­u­larly when the tides are right, and pro­duces a tra­di­tional stone­ground whole­meal flour for lo­cal ar­ti­san bak­ers, and avail­able to pur­chase. Friendly war­dens help you make the most of your visit. There’s a host of in­ter­ac­tive ac­tiv­i­ties and unique com­puter gen­er­ated im­agery to help you dis­cover how the grain and ul­ti­mately the flour move around the three floors of the mill.

NA­TIONAL TRUST SUT­TON HOO

Home to one of the great­est ar­chae­o­log­i­cal dis­cov­er­ies of all time, and one of the most im­por­tant his­tor­i­cal sites in the coun­try.

Walk around the an­cient burial mounds and dis­cover the in­cred­i­ble story of the ship burial of an An­glo-Saxon king and his trea­sured pos­ses­sions. Learn about the lives of the ear­li­est English cit­i­zens and ex­plore the award-win­ning ex­hi­bi­tion, the full-size re­con­struc­tion of the burial cham­ber, stun­ning replica trea­sures and orig­i­nal finds from one of the mounds, in­clud­ing a prince’s sword.
