THE MUNNINGS ART MUSEUM
The Munnings Art Museum owns the world’s largest collection of paintings and drawings by Sir Alfred Munnings. Best known for his outstanding equestrian scenes, Munnings also captured rural English life and landscapes in the early twentieth century. In 2018, to mark the 250th anniversary of the founding of the Royal Academy, the museum presents highlights from its collection illustrating Munnings’ long association with it. A special exhibition, Munnings and the River, explores his less well known artistic responses to the British landscape.
