PARKS GET GREEN FLAG

EADT Suffolk - - UPFRONT -

Two Ipswich parks have been certified with Green Flag status, making Christchurch Park and Holywells Park among 1,883 places considered the most welcoming and sustainable in the UK. Both are popular with tourists and residents, and Christchurch Park is frequently used for events such as Ipswich Music Day. The national Green Flag award is made by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy. Councillor Philip Smart, Ipswich Borough Council’s parks and open spaces portfolio holder, said the awards demonstrated what staff, friends of the parks and volunteers can achieve.
