The Hunter Gallery’s au­tumn ex­hi­bi­tion is an ex­cit­ing mixed show fea­tur­ing favourite lo­cal artists who have been very busy this sum­mer paint­ing around Suf­folk and Nor­folk.

Among them is Mar­garet Glass PS (The Pas­tel So­ci­ety), who has painted some idyl­lic scenes of the Suf­folk coast. Hal­ima Wash­ing­ton-Dixon ex­hibits a lovely se­ries of Suf­folk land­scapes that she has painted ‘en plein air’, and Jonathan Trim, an ex­pert in cap­tur­ing the ef­fect of light on wa­ter, has a won­der­ful se­ries of the River Stour.

The ex­hi­bi­tion also fea­tures Mark El­dred who has painted his fa­mous blue­bells in small scale, David Far­ren with some im­pres­sion­is­tic French river scenes, Peter Heard with some lovely land­scapes in his char­ac­ter­is­tic and well known idio­syn­cratic style, Scot­tish artist Ian El­liot with some colour­ful Scot­tish and Ital­ian land­scapes, and in­tro­duc­ing young artist Dawn Kay, who paints with a soft pal­let very de­tailed still life com­po­si­tions and flow­ers that are a de­light to the eye.

On show also are reg­u­lars at the gallery, Alexan­der Deben­ham, Harry Brioche, Steven Mclough­lin and Ed­ward Noott RBSA.

A glass of fizz awaits you at the open­ing of the ex­hi­bi­tion on Sat­ur­day, Septem­ber 22.
