AWARD FOR ART PROJECT

EADT Suffolk - - UPFRONT -

A Hadleigh based project to promote the art and gardening of Sir Cedric Morris, who lived and worked in the town, has won the prestigious Finnis Scott Foundation Botanical Art Award. The award – the highest possible accolade given for botanical art – was made to Councillor Dr Siân Dawson, a botanical illustrator who inspired and co-ordinated a group of botanical artists to illustrate a Florilegium of the bearded irises bred by Sir Cedric Morris. It consists of 27 botanical paintings that accurately record each of the cultivated varieties of iris, painted by the country’s leading RHS botanical artists.
