CELEBRATE ARMISTICE 100
A CHARITY EVENT TO REMEMBER AT MILSOMS KESGRAVE HALL
This November sees the 100th anniversary of Armistice, the end of the First World War, and Milsoms Kesgrave Hall is hosting a party to remember.
The celebration will be in The Hangar at Kesgrave Hall, on Saturday, November 10. It promises to be an evening of fun, fabulous food and wonderful entertainment.
With its starlit ceiling and silk lined walls, The Hangar at Milsoms Kesgrave Hall is a superb venue to commemorate such an important date in history. Three years ago, it was the venue for a party to celebrate the 70th anniversary of VE Day. It was such a great night that guests are still talking about it, so The Hangar will once again be dressed for the occasion and the appropriate era.
Arrival is from 6.30pm for Champagne and canapes, the perfect opportunity to see guests’ interpretation of the dress code for the evening – Downton Abbey. This offers plenty of scope from white tie and tails for gentlemen to delicate cocktail dresses for ladies, not forgetting the ‘upstairs, downstairs’ brigade and Mr Carson. The reception will be followed by a delicious three-course dinner – no rations or corned beef!
Kesgrave Hall has also been lucky enough to secure the Band of the Army Air Corps, which is based in Colchester. The band will provide the dance music – and a little theatre – to mark the historic occasion. Dreamwave Events DJ will then take the party through the decades, right up to the present day until 2am.
For guests who have worked up an appetite after several hours on the dance floor, there will be a hot midnight feast to keep the party going.
Tickets for what promises to be a party like no other are £120. It is a charity event, so £20 from each ticket will be donated to ABF The Soldiers Charity, the National Charity of the British Army. Money will also be raised through an auction and tombola, with some great prizes.
In 2015, Kesgrave Hall gave £20,000 to this charity and it aims to do the same after this year’s event.
ABF The Soldiers Charity was founded in 1944 to give support to soldiers and veterans from the army, and their immediate families, when they are in need, for life. Grants are made to individuals through their regiments and corps, and they support a wide range of specialist charities that sustain the British Army ‘family’, both at home and overseas.
