Pip Wright is a re­tired pri­mary school teacher, liv­ing in Stow­mar­ket who writes lo­cal his­tory books and gives talks to groups across East Anglia. He has spent years gath­er­ing in­for­ma­tion on Suf­folk so­cial his­tory and his par­tic­u­lar pas­sion is news­pa­pers of the 18th and 19th cen­turies. He has pro­duced sev­eral books and says he still has hun­dreds more good sto­ries he in­tends to pub­lish. His book Whistle­craft is the true story of a no­to­ri­ous fam­ily of poach­ers from Rick­ing­hall, and is one of four his­tor­i­cal nov­els writ­ten about lo­cal peo­ple.
