Littlegarth provides ideal transition from Nursery to Reception When Littlegarth School decided to build a substantial new teaching facility, the first priority was to place brand new purpose built Reception classrooms right beside our delightful Nursery facilities. The Early Years at Littlegarth has always been a strength of the School and in our most recent ISI inspections (2014 and 2017) we were given the top grade of Excellent in all areas. Experienced staff delight in preparing our children for entry into Reception and this year our children were able to work and play beside their new classrooms and visit the classrooms regularly during the summer term. This has helped to ensure the smoothest of transitions into the Reception classes this September and the children have loved learning in their new classroom and outdoor learning areas. The fact that they are able to keep such close ties with their Nursery this term has provided extra comfort. Littlegarth is a co-educational independent school which supports children as they strive to develop a wide range of skills through our broad, balanced curriculum. The extensive grounds of Horkesley Park provide an ideal setting for a wide range of learning experiences for children from Nursery to Year 6. In addition to outstanding classroom teaching, EYFS children receive subject specialist teaching in sport, music, drama and French which continues throughout their time at the school. When children reach the age of eight, all lessons are taught by subject specialists in facilities that help to inspire the children to strive for excellence across the curriculum.
